The Pickeral Inn, Cambridge
Is a great old pub on the outskirts of the town centre by the river, and perfect for a few pints before heading into idiotsville for the rest of the evening. My friends and I have been drinking there for about 12 years on and off.

Probably about 3 or 4 times while we have been in there by the little nook for the quiz machine / fruit machine (for anyone local)where we always end up all of us have smelt a really strong musky almost druggy perfume scent for a couple of seconds, not weed or solid but similar, and every time there has been no-one near us inside or out, or any smokers in the vicinity (when you still could smoke in a pub obviously) but it always went as quickly as it came, and always when we were in the same place.

A couple of years ago while bored a gang of us decided to go on the Cambridge ghost tour one sunday night for a giggle. It was cool, cruising around various college properties, old houses , churches etc and the final story related to how a sailor fell asleep while smoking opium, his pipe was still lit, set fire to the bed and he died in his lodgings, and occasionally you can smell the ghostly sailor smoking his final pipe of drugs.

We were standing in an alley next to the Pickeral Inn, and the room he died in was smack bang above where we have been when we got the smell.
