Oh christ yes.Tom Bombadil nearly put me off the last time I tried to read them all, yet I persevered.
For a while.
What did for me in the end was all the fucking singing! It's like the bloody Sound of Music in those books. It seems like five pages can't go past without some merrye-muckle-they-make sing-a-long-a-hobbit musical number starts up. And the Elves, oh CHRIST the Elves...
