# but i thought
Zelda was links?
/coat

my server is rapidly dying due to FP-ness. are excess bandwidth costs normally quit big?

(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:28, archived)
# That depends on the host really..
You could always just get an msn groups account, then edit the original message?

# check your leeter

# I'm with hostroute.com
and they charge £1 per Gb bandwidth normally and £3 per Gb overage
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:44, archived)
# That sounds
expensive, but maybe I'm just old... :)
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:48, archived)
# seems a bit steep
I'm with www.uh-hosting.co.uk £20 for the year, and 15GB a month.
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:49, archived)
# holy moly
I thought that was reasonable after most of the packages I checked!
mind you, mine's a business account, does that make a difference?
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:55, archived)
# no, I don't think so.
depends on the kind of stuff you do. php, and fancy databases normally costs more. uh-hosting still seem the most reasonable host that I've seen, but there are a few others that people recommend. Pep and Cal have someone they think is very good for php sites, but I can't remember who it is...
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 19:00, archived)
# well, y'see
the reason I chose hostroute is cos I don't need any fancy stuff except FP extensions and with a lot of hosts, if you want those then you have to pay for all this SQL stuff that I don't understand, let alone need.
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 19:06, archived)
# quite a liberal 15gb too
if you know what i mean
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:56, archived)
# really?
sadly I've never some close :(

# do they allow
business hosting?
a lot of them don't, I've found.
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 19:03, archived)
# Stick it on msn or summat until
it goes off the front page:)
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:32, archived)
# you can expect to do about 1Gb
for a front page on a slow moving day.
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:39, archived)
# we should all chip in a £1 a month and get a reseller package
with gigs and gigs of space.
(, Wed 21 May 2003, 18:40, archived)
# it would cost
an absolute fortune. it's the bandwidth that's the problem anyway, not the space...

nice idea though.
