nope, only windows/DOS
basically i got asked to install AOL Broadband, and its done something to the partition and wont boot

does the BIOS still see the drive ?
installing software DOES NOT cause drives to die.
it's either:
a: a rare (but not unheard of) bootsector virus thats overwriten the MBR
b: hardware failure
if a: you should be able to get the data back, if b: then you have a new paperweight.
