[challenge entry] *mutter*

Anybody have any tips on working with small text and clarifying it, just couldn't for the life of me stop the text pixelating and causing obvious seams.

From the New Road Signs challenge. See all 655 entries (closed)

# I'd...
Do your photo-monkeying in tattyshop, then to add the text open the file in Illustrator, its text monkeying abilities are teh superb. Then save for web from there.

# you need to turn the anti aliasing off.
Set it to 'none' as in this pic

EDIT: Also rasterize the type before you rotate it - it won't go all 'higgledy piggledy' then

# Cor PSP
only has Sharp Smooth and Off.

I want strong and crispy antialiasing too.

In my mind.

# GIMP is good.

# At first all you have to get used to is all of the different windows.
Then you have to get used to the fact almost NO plugins are avaliable.

Same for brushes.

You can find some on Deviantart though =)

[challenge entry] hah! This doesn't deserve it's own thread so i'll stick it here
(, Sat 17 Jun 2006, 12:36, archived)
# ha ha! Yay!

I have a similar dilemma - it's a pearoast, so doesn't deserve it's own thread, and I can't decide whether it's compo-worthy anyway (given that it's supposed to be about new signs - and this is just a regular sign) (meh)

# Being pedantic...
... when have you ever seen a sign warning of a bridge 4 1/2 feet high? So technically, it is new...
(, Sat 17 Jun 2006, 12:43, archived)
# True, true
But then as you know, the idea wasn't mine anyway - I have the signed original framed here on my wall (although that was a different location, and a different height too)
