# i had a similar idea initially

toilet tubes goes to a guiness tap on a bar
barman pours guiness for a customer

# I love guinness
I just wish it wasn't a billion calories a glass *pats tummy*

It's especially nice with a bit of kahlua in it.

# I love Guinness
It's like a pint of meal :)

# :D too true
my 27 inch waisted ex used to drink it by the bucketload and STILL never lose any weight. Pigeon chested git.

# Guiness is ace.
I like saying to people, "Ah, but have you tried it in America?" just to upset them.

# What happens to it over there?
Do they add 4 kilos of sugar to every barrel? Does it come with a toy?

# It makes the lager you get at a student bar seem robust and full of flavour.
I had a "Michael Collins" cocktail in the Nine Fine Irishman bar in the New York New York hotel in Las Vegas, served to me by a nice Hawaiian gentleman. It's a half of G with a shot of 1/2 Baileys 1/2 whiskey in it - like a depthcharge.

You're meant to down it, and I thought "I down Guinness for no man", whereupon it promptly congealed.

It was delicious, though, but I wasn't impressed with the name. Maybe I'll start up a bar here and have an Osama Bin Laden cocktail.

# They're not that good at drinking, the yanks.
I've heard Newkie over there is about 2% or something silly.

# I beg to differ.
Nights out with a couple of my American chums have left a Scotsman weeping and begging for his mother.

# Hmm
every American I've ever known has been a right pansy when it comes to drink.

# I don't drink lager, and have never, really.
Except when it was the only thing available. If I wanted to gargle fizzy piss I would do, soda streams are about a fiver in charity shops, and I think I'd prefer to be associated with urine quaffing than Stella Fucking Artois.

# Guinness
has lots of vitamin B in, so it is good for you. At least that is how I justify drinking vast quantities of the stuff.
(, Thu 19 Mar 2009, 10:42, archived)
# you piss out any vitamin b that you don't need
this is why multivitamins are useless if you already have a good diet
(, Thu 19 Mar 2009, 10:44, archived)
# I remember
reading a paper last year that found there were no measurable health benefits from taking vitamin supplements if your diet was already balanced.
(, Thu 19 Mar 2009, 10:45, archived)
# i'm pretty sure people already knew that before multivitamins were a popular product at the supermarket.
(, Thu 19 Mar 2009, 10:46, archived)
# I always suspected this

# I really like guinness when I tell the barperson to empty the glass and then fill it with whisky
