There's a good bit about them on QI. The chap who designed London's sewer system was apparently the great great grandfather of the founder of Endemol. So, as Stephen Fry points out, it's ironic that he devoted his life to carrying shit away from us, whereas his descendant has devoted his life to carrying it back to us.
