This is a link post Exploiting the jobless
I was looking for some help in filling in a jobseekers allowance form and came across this.
Check out the call rates.
Cunts.

Word of advice to the young:
Don't fail to graduate and then spend 13 years in a highly specialised scientific defence job that, due to budget cuts, there is no real need for and then take redundancy.
Can I get a job now? Can I fuck.

but is it fucking disgraceful
(, Wed 9 May 2012, 16:53, , Reply)
This is a normal post What does this have to do with Labour?
It seems to me that this is a private company preying on some of the more vulnerable people in the country in quite a heinous way.

In fact I'm going to let a buddy at the DWP know about this and we'll see if we can get them sorted out. Yes, they're free to screw people over like this - Yay Free Market! - but they're not allowed to pass themselves off as working for the gov't.

This is a normal post That'd be brilliant!
I suspect, however, that the wording on the webpage just about covers them from a legal viewpoint. I'm not sure abou6t the use of the Job centre plus logo though.

Also, fwiw, I'm on a Virgin media land-line and the proper 0845 number cost considerably more (about 10p/min, I think) than the BT rate and I think this is wrong too. They should all be 0800 number as far as I'm concerned.
(, Wed 9 May 2012, 17:13, , Reply)
This is a normal post There is a drive for all 0800 numbers
Even so, some phone companies charge for those. I think Virgin might be one of them.

Good call on the copyright thing. There doesn't seem to be a qualifier at the bottom, which is to say they're apparently claiming copyright of the JC+ logo as you say.

What galls me most is their giving a premium rate number for crisis loans when the real number is an 0800 (free on most mobiles nowadays*). It's an 0800 number for a reason.

*Part of the drive I mentioned at the start is also about getting 0800 numbers to be truly free even on mobiles.

0800 buster and 0845 buster websites may help. Can't look for a link as I'm on my phone but you'd probably just assume it was about equine passions anyway

Ta anyway.

This is a normal post Eh?
WTF has this got to do with any political party.
Looks like an unscrupulous company preying on the vulnerable. That's more like the current imbeciles in charge than the last ones.

Have the lot for free.

Also C.A.B should be able to help you too.

I was actually looking for the charity that helped me understand the form when I was ill, but that related to the, now defunct, ESA.

This is a normal post An account written by a friend of mine
A friend who graduated last summer has been jobless for a while (not for want of trying), and is caught in the JSA system somewhat. Her experiences are being chronicled on Facebook, and I've hosted some of them on freetexthost (mostly for the benefit of those amongst you who start firing thick gouts of hate-ejaculate everywhere when Facebook links are posted).

Oh, and er, *pop*, I suppose.

This is a normal post I know it's not really a thread to vent your spleen
But I will anyway.

Long story short: wife pregnant, owns and runs a small shop in a small rural town, earns fuck all (like very little) but enough to pay a few bills. Has a small earnings ticket which exempts you from class 2 NICs. Government now refuses to pay her *any* maternity benefit because she's behind on her class 2 NICs that they told her she was exempt from. So we're getting fuck all help. Brilliant eh? You earn fuck all and you get fuck all.

Edit: I should point out that you can be earning whatever you like and still get maternity benefit - like a household income of 90k and still get the full whack. Fucking cock trousers, the whole bunch of the civil service steaming pile of arse butter

"Hello. You are through to crisis loans. It would appear you have enough money to call us which tells us you don't really need one. If you are unhappy with this press one. If you think this is acceptable press two. If you really do need a crisis loan, you'ld better pop out and get about thirty quids worth of credit. Oh wait, you can't can you, hahaha. Press three and fuck off".
