This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Ginger
Why everyone seems to treat having red hair as an affront to nature these days. For a start i hate the term ginger. My hair is not ginger its reddish-brown (or auburn). Ginger root is light brown. Seriously who cam up with that term??

Seriously i think at least 5 times a year i will get random people (mostly drunk) coming up and just saying abusive stuff but somehow feeling its ok. e.g "mate you know theres a cure, dye your hair then u may get laid innit" Then when he adds hes just kidding and his cousins ginger apparently its cool??

To put it another way i randomly say run to a black guy "oy mate you can't get a job cause your black, nah its cool my neighbours black"

Seriously we are as rare/common as blondes however blondes seem to escape all the abuse somehow.

Oh and for all those who think North Americans love it, well i did get compliments sometimes on holidays, but thanks to the boys from South Park that no longer happens.

Couldn't agree more
I had a colleague circulate a jolly cartoon suggesting that 'gingers' should be aborted. I was supposed to laugh along. The tendency for ginger-baiting seems to be filling the vacuum left by other forms of racism.

But in job interviews I've been asked more than once if I had "a bit of a temper" or "are you able to keep your cool". That's not funny.

This is to the pair of you.
I grew up with ginger hair, but as I got into my twenties it darkened into brown. So I know exactly what you're saying. I got all the ginger jokes. Still do, from people who can remember the ginge days.

That said... stop fucking whining and give a bit back. Perhaps they're not taking the piss so much because you're ginger, but because you're the kind of quivering milquetoasts who would equate garden-variety pisstaking with a racist attack. The more you whinge about this, the more you sound like the kid at school who would get his mum to tell off the bullies. When he was fifteen.

there are many shades of red
but by far the most shocking is that bright orange colour of hair some folk have, very few i may add, but i still see it from time time...Very psychedelic.

I agree.
On point of fact, I adore women with red hair. Although the one I dated was in fact a massive nutter with a terrible temper.

The stereotype rang true for once.

Shame.

it is a weird phenomenon
bassist in my band is ginger and gets it ripped from him mercilessly, all the time. In much the same way our drummer gets the piss taken for being old, I get the piss taken for being smug and our singer gets the piss taken for being a dumbass.

as the man up there^ says: give a bit back. next time some drunk comes up to you to take the piss tell him his mum didn't mind while you were fucking her in the arse.

also, the saying is true: rusty roof, smelly garage

Cartman
Didnt Cartman from Southpark get this one right ? :)
Actually i think it is a very good episode which highlights race/equality issues, especially as cartman does end up ginger himself :)
Still, Gingers freak me out !
