This is a question Dad stories

"Do anything good for your birthday?" one of your friendly B3TA moderator team asked in one of those father/son phone calls that last two minutes. "Yep," he said, "Your mum." Tell us about dads, lack of dad and being a dad.

Frankly I don't think reading about the failings of someone's Father is interesting or entertaining.
This is, in my opinion, someone posting for sympathy on the internet. I doubt it even qualifies as anonymous catharsis, which in any event fails my interesting or entertaining test.

Why bother to read it and reply?
Why not just ignore it and read the next answer?
I don't really understand why people get so snipey about someones posts not being up to their 'hilarious' standards
Makes you look a bit of a prick really

I was linked to it
as an example of a shit answer to this week's question.
Although I feel really bad now, I really had no idea that my post might not go down well on QotW and cause someone to upset online.

Oh cheer up will you.
I'm sick of reading about misery on here.

the same could be said of why people get worked up about the responses of others
Why bother to read it and reply?
Why not just ignore it and read the next answer?

Actually, it makes him look like someone reacting to a dull heartpouring
You being pissy because someone voiced criticism over someone's tragic story in a lighthearted forum makes you look like the prick

We're not all sweaty palmed WoW shut-ins
Instead of tossing off into socks, why not try and talk to a real life girl. Just don't mention goblins or wizards.

O little town of frisbeehem
you're 'knighting the wrong guy.
His post was shit, devoid of wit-
a total waste of time.
But keep on grabbin' ankle
and spread those buttcheeks wide -
you'll feel fulfilled when /talk has spilled
its seedless juice inside.

Oh, oh, I know this one!
It's because he's a troll, trying to emulate his heroes in the fictional rivalry between QotW and /talk.

It's brilliant watching grown adults (allegedly) picking on one another like they're back at school again
