We're keeping this one open for two weeks to allow you to get up to stupid stuff and send it in.

Slightly dumb, I guess...
...is the very thorough job I've made of keeping a low profile socially for most of the year (go back through my previous to see why I've been bad company for most of this year - people haven't missed out so much as been spared, trust me). As for my own benefit, well, it's just paid to keep things simple for awhile :)

I've stayed below radar so well in fact that I never considered what the hell I'd be doing on New Year's Eve, and now it looks like I'll be toasting it alone this year. Not even got a date. Pffft. Poor effort, even if I say so myself.

Ah well, that's what I get for vonting to be alone, but plenty more New Years to come yet, eh? My NY resolution this year is to have a slightly more exciting time of it next year ;)

Mate
NYE is always an anti-climax. Surely you have a local pub you could go into at 10pm, so as not to be alone. If not, start playing a good computer game at 11ish, get into it, you'll miss midnight and then it's all over.
Or get blind drunk by 7pm and pass out, also bypassing the death of the old year. Whatever, onward and upward for 2008.

same as
well, it's been and gone here. I rang it in playing with my camera.

Still, the year can only improve, can't it?

Don't sweat it, dear boy
...as my esteemed colleagues have said.

It's just a day/night like any other. My year's been a stinker (insert 'annus horribilis' joke here).

My evening will be one of laboured sobriety in the company of my pregnant girfriend who I don't really want to be with - I'd positively welcome being alone...

Best wishes for 2008.

What Mordred said...

For complicated reasons I had to spend new year's eve last year in my house alone. Put the new Seinfeld box set in at 22:00, mixed some white russians, switched the mobile off, took the phone off the hook and laughed. Lots.

Didn't notice when 2007 began but it's still been a good one for me though.

My plan for NYE
is to snuggle up with my girlfriend and watch Indiana Jones movies, or possibly the David Gilmour DVD I just got. And if I make it to midnight, so much the better...

Heheheh no sympathy required...
...plan to treat myself to a nice Italian meal tonight, watch a DVD maybe and then see in the New Year (and the old one out} with a spliff and a couple of shots of tequila. It's not going to be raucous, but it'll still be nice.

Better than last year now I think about it - wanted to stay in with my fella-at-the-time, but the moody twat buggered off to bed at 10:30. The turn of the year means a lot to me and mine - I wasn't impressed lol.

Like I say, I'll make more of an effort next year and maybe I'll have someone to share the meal with at least. In the meantime, I have a ciabatta to bake. All the best, everyone ;)

POST-EDIT: You know, I quite enjoyed it in the end :)

It's Over Now
Mate.

Xmas and New Year are bastards when you're recovering fro a failed love affair. But, it's out of the way now so onwards and upwards. (Or when you next score, backwards and forwards)

I'll look forward for you getting back to your old self and posting me some giggles.

Cheers
