Whats more imporatnt?

Girls come and go, usually. A good mate is harder to replace, lose one of these and you may lose both.

Don't,
just don't expect relationship advice on b3ta.

:(
NakedApe's got in one. Had a similar scenario myself and it went very badly. I'd give the power ballad approach a go though.

It very much depends
On how old you are....I know that sounds crap - you can fall in love at any age, blah, blah, blah...but by and large if you're both over 30 the chances are you've made all the mistakes (no...you haven't) You've made *some* mistakes and have (possibly) a better idea of what you want from life (I'm talking utter bollocks, ignore this).
However, if you're in your teens the chances are you'll both grow apart, ruin the friendship and everyone will hate everyone else.

Or not.
