This is a question Faking it

Rakky writes, "We've all done it. From qualifications to orgasms, everyone likes to play 'let's pretend' once in a while."

So when have you faked it? Did you get away with it? Or were your mendacious ways exposed?

I lied
to my insurance company.

As far as they're concerned, I've got no points and no previous accidents.

They haven't found out yet.

... and when or if you DO have an accident...
... and it's all looked into, You'll suddenly find that you don't have any insurance at all because you insurance company will rightly say "No, he lied to us: it's null and void".

Not only that but if you happen to have mown some poor sod down in the process of you accident you won't even be able to provide for their well-being thus fucking up someone elses life even more so.

You irresponsible shit.

Christ, that's a bit risky, no?
If anything happens, your fault or not, and they then do a in-depth look at you, they're not going to pay out, you know!

What Humpty said
Fine if *you* want to take the risk of having to pay a fine or losing your car, but a bit unfair to foist the pain and suffering (possibly) on somebody else, if, unfortunately you suffer an accident.

Actually
I believe that the insurance company will still pay out, but will just pass the bill on to you afterwards.

*dons "used to work for a broker" hat*

The MIB (Motor Insurers Bureau, not men in black) will cover the other guy's repairs, costs etc. They do this by applying a levy to all premiums paid - so in effect everyone else could end up paying for your claim. If you have assets, your own insurer will then sue the arse off you.

It ain't worth it, really.

*takes off silly hat*

actually
Actually, your insurers will still pay out all third-parties claims in the event of an accident. Its their legal responsibility to do so, and as long as the paper certificate is still in existance (they havent asked for it back and destroyed it) you are covered third-party no matter how much you have lied to them.
What WILL happen thoughis that any cover ABOVE third party will be voided, so damage to yourself, your own car or property (assuming you are TPFT or fully comp) will not be paid for.
In the event of being lied to, they are not too happy, and will recover whatever they have paid out to the third parties directly from you. Bear in mind that minorly rear-ending someone in a modern car normally requires several thousand pounds of bodywork repairs (big plastic bumpers, crumpled boot floor and fancy water-based metallic paints)and 99% of people claimfor whiplash which generally pays AT LEAST 1.5k per passenger, you will be looking at a hefty bill.

The increase on your premium for declaring any points or convictions is normally not that much unless you are under 21 or a serial speeder / accident clutz. Your problem though is that nce the lie is started, you cant suddenly come clean to your current inurers, they will probably tell you to piss off, so you will need to cancel your policy or wait till renewal time, change insurers and start afresh with the truth.

ahhh.
Good that other people are going to be covered of Fry-arse here crashes Again... Doens't stop him from being a selfish, narrow-minded cunt though.

It's all automatic here in Sweden. After noting that you lied to them (details checked once you sign) You'd have been black-marked and more expensive to insure as a known liar.

*Humpty Coughs and manages to make it sound like "CUNT" once more for satisfaction*

How much are you actually saving?
Because I have two claims in the last five years, I ran a check seeing how much I would save by "editing the truth" and it comes to.. wait for it, is everyone sitting comfortably?.... £34.76.

My housemate has three points and if he had "omitted that detail" he would have saved just over 40 squid.

Reaaaallllly doesn't seem worth it.

*coughcoughcuntcough* Humpty I appear to have caught whatever it is you have!

To the Wee-Witch
They won't pay for repair (the MIB that is), they will only pay for injury claims.

The driver would need to sue to claim for repair/replacement costs.
