I cannot have 13 e-mails.
Especially work emails. I will go out of my way to not have 13 emails, even to the extremes of working late to reduce new email to a non-13 shaped amount.
I like to think I am not a superstitious person, but for some reason, 13 e-mails drives me to distraction and cannot be allowed.

Would it not be better to have 14 emails and no less than 14. If you have 5 emails on a Friday afternoon and come into work on Monday morning with your inbox showing 20 emails, then at some point you would have had 13 emails sitting in your inbox unopened.

If you had 14 then the count could never be less than 14. Your just increasing the chances of getting 13 emails doing things your way.
