This is a question Hypocrisy

Overheard the other day: "I've told you before - stop swearing in front of the kids, for fuck's sake." Your tales of double standards please.

Alex Salmond
Wants independence for Scotland, but I didn't hear any objections to plenty of non-Scottish cash going to save The Royal Bank of Scotland and The Bank of Scotland.

Poisonous little cretin, he's a dictator in the making, and the sooner our friends and families in the north wake up and realise this, the better for our united nation. I can honestly see him, sat on a gold toilet in a marble palace, issuing orders to round up and deport anyone without 5 generations of pure bred Scottish blood.

Fine Al, go for independence but the whole nation will suffer as a result, if you can live with that, be my guest, go down in history as the Highland Hitler.

Hear, Hear!

I'm scottish, and most of those who voted him in did so purely due to his policy of not being Labour or the Tories.

Not Labour, not Tory
but a combination of the worst bits of each?

I'm all for politics at a local level, don't get me wrong; getting people involved is vital to openness, but this man is taking it a few long strides too far.

Mind you we have the same problem here, voting Labour to keep the Tories out and vice versa; only at local council level do the LibDems ever do OK.

YES

The Silly Numpty Party
haven't grown up in the fifty plus years that I've been wondering at their grasp on reality. They still have this desperate desire to be big fish in a tiny pool.

Summed up nicely
Ever thought of running your own party with common sense like that?

Right on the head
I couldn't agree more.

erm
yes Alex salmond does indeed want independence for scotland

he was elected by a democratic majority - which means a considerable chunk (political term) of the electorate would also prefer to see an independent scotland

however the reality is that most rational scots see that breaking off a portion of a small nation to become a seemingly less significant nation is neither progressive nor beneficial

then they remember what monumental cunts the english are and vote accordingly

personally i as a scot abroad would not like to see this [independence] happen - mainly because the thought of waiving a 'scottish passport' at some officious corrupt cunt would not have the same sway as a British passport which is arguably one of the most desired documents on our fetid little rock of a planet

!

Except in India, where they routinely shoot you if you have one.
This is why I'm getting a Canadian passport to complement my British passport. It will reduce the risk of 9mm lead poisoning if I'm ever unfortunate enough to have to visit the jungle.

hmm
non scottish cash in what way?
scottish people pay tax too, and are surely entitled to the benefits that doing so brings.
bank of scotland was bought by halifax a long time ago, nothing to do with the governemnt.
and the royal bank of scotland wasnt just given money, the government purchased shares in it, for which it expects a hefty return.
if you dont like alex salmond then fair enough, i'm not his biggest fan either, but this is a ridiculous argument.
