This is a question Little Victories

I recently received a £2 voucher from a supermarket after complaining vociferously about the poor quality of their own-brand Rich Tea biscuits, which I spent on more tasty, tasty biscuits. Tell us about your trivial victories that have made life a tiny bit better.

I have a faulty Aeropress
My sixteen month-old Aeropress has developed some flaws on the interior surface of the chamber. I wrote to Aerobie Inc., asking if this was normal and to be expected (it was my first Aeropress, so I had no idea) or if there was a fault with it.

A helpful chap from Aerobie wrote back the next day, told me that "we consider it a defect" and offered to send me a replacement, gratis. That was nice of the company. I've bought another one for use at work.

So, your story is 'I reported a fault and the company fixed it'?

VICTORY IS MINE!!!
*fist pumps*

You had the 20:56 ticket?

Get your cynic trousers off, Grandad.

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 21:11, closed)
is this in response to the answer to the question
or the original question?

I think badger has got so carried away with curing the keening inanity of the internet
that he's failed to notice that this week's brief is "tell us something exceedingly dull where you made a small profit from whinging".
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 21:37, closed)
I think it might be

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 21:29, closed)
Yes.

(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 21:41, closed)
Then you are to be commended.
Even if you have a lolarious wog icon.
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 21:44, closed)

It was that or the Adolf one.

You're so edgy even your edges have edges.

Aeropress
is made of win!
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 22:40, closed)

I love mine. Frequently.
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 23:48, closed)
Excusing, please?
What is Aeropress?
(, Mon 14 Feb 2011, 23:05, closed)
Excusing granted
It's one of these.

I find it more convenient than a cafetière or filter/drip machine.

Aerobie
as in the people who used to make the frisbees? I didn't know they were in the coffee business.
(, Tue 15 Feb 2011, 9:25, closed)
I love this.
I hope it wins QoTW.
(, Tue 15 Feb 2011, 13:58, closed)
Why, thank you.

(, Tue 15 Feb 2011, 19:16, closed)
I'll admit, I thought you meant the throwing-jobby.
This coffee maker sounds odd though -- what, exactly, is wrong with gritty coffee and surely it costs more using this since you have to replace the filter every time?
(, Tue 15 Feb 2011, 18:12, closed)
Nothing wrong with gritty coffee, per se.
I just don't like it, that's all.

The instruction manual says that the filters can be rinsed (gently) and reused, but the filters cost roughly a penny each so I don't bother.
(, Tue 15 Feb 2011, 19:15, closed)
We rinse the filter
Each one lasts about two weeks of 4 or so uses a day.
(, Tue 15 Feb 2011, 20:31, closed)
You goits!
I am now seriously considering purchasing one of these coffee-making jobbies.
(, Wed 16 Feb 2011, 20:43, closed)
Do it...
The one I recently bought for work I bought from here: www.theactivelifestore.com/aerobie-aeropress-coffee-maker.html

20 quid including postage.
