A scottish question
No, this has nothing to do with sheep or single malt (well, at least not until my friend's stag night, anyway). I'm attending a wedding, and have been asked to wear a kilt. Can any scottish b3tans tell me whether it's considered bad form to go with a ghillie shirt as opposed to a jacket?

sorry
usually not this shit. figured there might be some scottish b3tans. perilously few actual scots here in toronto. plenty of wannabes though.

Alright Tuqueboy
I'm from Scottishland and we wear the ghillie shirt with everything, it's your safest bet.

Yes, should be OK
Provided it's not a very formal do.

And if you want to be pedantic, it's 'the' kilt, not 'a' kilt.

thanks
it's in the northwest territories, and knowing the couple in question, it probably won't be particularly formal.

If you're going to be dancing
it's probably best to wear underpants, even though it's really comfortable to let your bits dangle unfettered.

But dancing can cause the kilt to swing up, and you're liable to flash your bollocks in someone's face.

Yes, for the same reasons it's bad form to take off your jacket
at a black tie do.

That's what i feared
I'm hoping the kilt-hire shop still has some remaining.

kilted cunts
I have a pathological hatred for those blousie open necked shirts. Worn by spacedockers, bumlovers, queerhawks, gayblades and cunts.

Yeah, you'll be fine!

Well, i am a cunt...

(, Tue 27 Mar 2012, 17:44, Reply)
its not just the shirt
Its the whole kilt thing that does my tits in. There are cunts in my work that wear them at the drop of a hat, the spend the evening wandering about thinking they're William Wallace and making really feeble jokes about having no undercrackers on.

A 'real Scotsman'? A real 'fucking cunt' more like it.

The kilt can be smart
But there are some right fannies around. Pantomime Hamishes, my mate calls them.
(, Tue 27 Mar 2012, 17:52, Reply)
haha
my stupid ex husband would have qualified as one. Proof they are cunts
(, Tue 27 Mar 2012, 17:53, Reply)
Fair enough.
I'm not scottish, and make no claims to be. Only reason i'm wearing a kilt is that the bride was best man at my wedding and wore a tuxedo. i felt duty-bound to reciprocate in kind, but couldn't really see myself fitting into an evening gown, so figured a kilt was the closest i could get and maintain some semblance of dignity. and the bride's mum is scottish.

Ghillie shirts are considered the casual option, but chicks dig them.

(, Tue 27 Mar 2012, 19:07, Reply)
I hate those shirts.
Gay pagan shirts.
