i'm gutted
not because it's cancelled, i was always gonna head to download, but because this means download tickets will sell out real fast, it'll be absolutely RAMMED and i'll a: have to buy early (ie before i can afford it) and b: jostle for tent space. motherfuckers.
still. mosh pits :D

I was in one last night, feeling rather sore today
Embarrassingly, it wasn't even for a heavy band, I came out of Cannibal Corpse with no visible injuries at all.

last year at soni
i was in the pit to mastodon, and some twunt with a big wooden skull on a stick took my knee out, causing the circle pit to fall on my duff knee. it was december before i could walk normally again. still going back in :D glutton for punishment. i'l start out withthe best intentions, but i don't think i'm physically capable of not pitting when peopel like lamb of god and mastodon play. it's the only nod to red blooded alpha male douchebaggery in my otherwise homogenised metrosexual character. can't help myself.

Are you a second account of Fat Bobby or your own autonomous person?

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 10:56, Reply)
autonomous

Who were you before?

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:02, Reply)
He's peteloaf

I left Mastodon halfway through to go and see Jason Rouse
My only regret is that I missed 'Blood and Thunder'. The pits for Parkway Drive were a bit mental, great fun though!

Were Mastodon on the Sunday?
If so, this would explain why I didn't see them.
(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:08, Reply)
Yep, on the Sunday
Why, did you leave early?
(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:10, Reply)
It was my wedding anniversary
I had to negotiate hard to be allowed to attend on the friday and saturday. I had been given a free pass to this years, which makes the cancellation even more annoying.

Ahh, fair enough

I'm campling next to my friends caravan so we don't have to walk as far to the arena.
I don't like the site layout for Download.
(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 10:53, Reply)
The layout is one of the main reasons I swore off going to Download again, the distance between the camping and the stages was ridiculous

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 10:55, Reply)
How far can it be, you lazy shite?

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 10:58, Reply)
Easily a 10-15 minute trek, which gets annoying when you make it several times a day

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:01, Reply)
Almost a mile?

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:02, Reply)
No, more. To get from the car park to the campsite was about 3-4 miles
which is fucking shit when you're carrying a heavy bag and tent and your booze supply. Then from the nearest campsite to the arena is about 1-1.5 miles, but if you were camped further out then it was obviously more.

The set up really is fucking terrible.
(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:04, Reply)
That was what I liked about Sonisphere, the setup was excellent

(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:06, Reply)
I read this like an advert for Unicef
Al here has to walk 3-4 miles a day just to get beer. With your help we can get his tent moved to the disabled camping area. Just £10 a month could help him to get some spirits and a hipflask to carry them in.
(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:08, Reply)
twenty five minutes at a brisk pace
well over a mile from mid campsite to arena gate
when you're twatted and it's baking hot and there's about one water point per thousand thirsty fans, it's like crossing the fucking sahara.
one year i'm gonna set up shop selling beers midway. i'd make a mint.
(, Thu 29 Mar 2012, 11:03, Reply)
yeah the epic trek from site to arena
can fucking do a massive one.
i hope they don't repeat the debacle from 2010 either, having the second stage (smaller crowd, heavier bands) on fucking tarmac again. that was a death trap. cavalera conspiracy was a bloodbath.
