Sort of, probably, yes, don't have one.
Alt: Thanks, they're not bad.
Altalt: I wish I could play the clarinet.
Altaltalt: No, all sport is bent. Particularly stupid non-sports like car driving.

The clarinet is a fantastic instrument.
It would give me the skillz to also play the flute and the saxophone.

Sorry, it gives you the skills to play the flute how?
I can play all three, as it happens, but playing a flute and playing a reed instrument like a clarinet or sax are two completely different things.

A saxophone and flute are broadly the same
the clarinet is different. A flute also has a mouthpiece you blow across, rather than in to like a sax/clarinet.

I know that sax & clarinet are reed instruments and that you blow across the flute.
So I'm kind of roughly right then? - Similar fingering, but different blowing for sax/flute; slightly different fingering, but same blowing for sax/clarinet.

It's not all that, I assure you
I can knock out a tune on lots of instruments, that doesn't mean I'm particularly good on any of them (although I'm alright on piano).
