I'd love to think you're right
but I rather fear it's just the same as always happens, midterm. There's not enough of a swing for it to be a piece of resurgence (you always get a protest vote midterm because it's really meaningless), the turnout was too low for it to be meaningful, and anyway you and I both know Milliband is nearly as unelectable as Kinnock was.

I also saw on the bbc that people were resenting the local referendums on having mayors because they felt that they were being 'forced' into having mayors.
