We can now cross over live to our Midlands correspondent.
I don't think it's raining here either, but I've shut the blinds now so can't be totally sure.

For a second there I thought you meant an actual physical switch
Like a dial next to the meter that you can set your supplier to.
(, Tue 12 Jun 2012, 22:15, Reply)
You mean you haven't got one of those?

(, Tue 12 Jun 2012, 22:16, Reply)

Oh man, it's brilliant!

(, Tue 12 Jun 2012, 22:24, Reply)
Where can I buy one?
And does it come in a range of styles?
(, Tue 12 Jun 2012, 22:40, Reply)
What's that then?
I just spent an hour tallying up my old gas and leccy bills for the last 12 months, converting it into Kilowatt hours and then trawling a few different websites and putting their tarrifs into a spreadsheet. Then double checked it against U Switch.

Should end up saving about £50 a year. Not much, I'll grant you, but since it's easy enough to change you might as well.

Now I just need to switch broadband suppliers, which I gather is far more of a ball ache.

It was something that Which? set up
They got various power companies to bid, then recommended all the people who signed up to either go with the lowest bidder or the company who would save them the most money.
It's finished now, but I think the site is still there for you to see how much you can still save.
