Sunday afternoon and I still ache from Friday night
where oh where did my youth go?

Please distract me from my pain and the never ending pile of work

It's a glorious day out,
and yet, here I am, trying to come up with a supporting statement for a job application that needs to be in today and which, for various reasons, I have been unable to do anything with until now.

my friend was saying on facebook he had the same issue
another friend suggested this useful piece of advice "consider what ray mears would do, and all will become clear"

admittedly it was for a ranger's job so it may have been more appropriate.

I thought you'd got a job now, is this one better?

I'd like to see him hunt and kill and eat that cunt Teddy Grylls.

I have, but it's a nine month maternity cover contract.
I got an email alert about a week after I started for a full time permanent post elsewhere doing heritage grant work, which I've done before. So, got to look after no. 1 and go for it.

Totally doing this thing now.

I took the kids to the park to throw stuff at the ducks.
They're quite good at it now. The mini one got a cygnet right in the fucking beak and the big one nearly drowned a coot.

Imma make a fire and cook a tandoori chicken and some naaaaaaans.

Hope this helps.
(, Sun 9 Sep 2012, 13:46, Reply)
you should have cooked tandoori swan

(, Sun 9 Sep 2012, 13:49, Reply)
I don't think a whole swan would fit in the woodfired oven.
I'm a failure.

:(
(, Sun 9 Sep 2012, 13:55, Reply)
yes
perhaps you should have got them to aim for a coot
(, Sun 9 Sep 2012, 13:56, Reply)
I've never eaten a coot.
I bet they're pretty good eating. I might give it a go.
(, Sun 9 Sep 2012, 13:59, Reply)
I can never remember how to tell coots from moorhens
but I hear they are both cunts and like to drown their offspring, so they probably taste of moral high ground
(, Sun 9 Sep 2012, 14:02, Reply)
Moorhens are smaller and have a red beak.
There's not much meat on a moorhen but it maybe tastes sweeter with the lustguilt of infanticide.

Oh mate, nah' man, we all feel like that sometimes but you're deffo not a failure.
Look at all the stuff you've done, you've got a book in your name and actually made your own oven; how many people can say that? Look, I got a number you can call, they're very friendly and they offer a sympathetic ear. I never realised you felt that way, I would have texted more often.

I'm loafing about and watching

I have work to do I can't concentrate on and a sore neck
but a faint chance that ....(dramatic music)... I may not spend my entire life single. It's not much, but at least until I fuck it up or find out it's a wind up, it'll do

Another day of being a dad.
Watched Brave (mediocre but not terrible) and went to the park, not a bad day, knackered though.
