come on losers
what are you doing?

alt: 9 years since the 07/07 bombings. i missed them by one train or so. when i got to work, there were about 6 of us there. a twat partner came out of his office to find us all huddled around the tv realising what had happened, and barked, "nothing to see here, back to your desks." who's the biggest twat you've ever worked with?

altalt: so someone grafitti'd the memorial pillars with "4 innocent muslims" and other such slogans. dumb religionists or dumb EDL or Britain First trying to blame it on dumb religionists? get your conspiracy theories here.

altaltalt: supper?

Game pie, roast veg for dinner, have no supper plans yet.
I wouldn't put it past the EDL types, tbh. WHen does supper start anyway?

altalt. My ex boss wouldn't let us leave early when the Manchester riots happened.
We were in a city centre office and due to finish at 8pm. I previously walked round to get some milk and it was like a dead zone.
I had to walk through the middle of it after work, shops being smashed and raided. I feared for my very life.

altalt. It's religious extremists we should be fearful of, not religion itself, though that has its own issues.
People who use religion as a front for their hatred and their power gains.

altaltal. Tea (northern term for evening meal)

I was in Kiev on 07/07. I remember trying call friends in London to ascertain if they were ok and not being able to get through, plus about 200 of us at Kiev airport trying to see the news around one small TV.

i rang my dad to complain about being stuck on the tube for ages and then herded out and not being able to get a bus wah wah wah (they told us it was a "power surge" on the line)
i got cut off partway through the call when they downed the networks, but at least it meant my family knew i was ok.

got to work. felt pretty fucking shit about being wah wah wah. it was horrible trying to get hold of friends and colleagues. everyone i knew was fine, apart from our office manager, who'd been one train ahead, and who came in at 3pm covered in dirt, clearly shocked to fuck, and not realising it at all.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2014, 17:01, Reply)
I was on me duke of Edinburgh in Wales when it happened so was completely isolated from it.
Didn't really know it had happened at the time and the hysteria had calmed down by the time I got back.

I'm not wasting good petrol to go and see a bunch of sweaty, lycra-clad drug addicts. I've seen Monty in his jeggings, and, frankly, that was enough.
