2014
How has the year gone for you? Better or worse than you expected? Highlight/low point of the year

Alt:
Best thing for £5?
(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 14:59, 80 replies, latest was 10 years ago)
Good, thanks.
Alt: A pint.
(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:00, Reply)
Fiver a pint? Wish I could get away with that.

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:15, Reply)
move the pub to london
sell the pints in smaller bottles

done
(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:19, Reply)
A pint in a smaller bottle would not be a pint?

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:21, Reply)
exactly
profit
(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:26, Reply)
Bit less than a pint, for a fiver. Good marketing.

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:30, Reply)
quite....

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:37, Reply)

Pretty good.
Alt: A toothless blowie.
(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:04, Reply)
Alright.
No immediate highs or lows spring to mind, just maintaining an even keel of 'alright'

Alt: I bought the double vinyl of Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus for five pounds on amazon, but this was more of a Monty Boyce listing than a consistent 'best thing £5 will get you' type thing.
I haven't really answered your question here, but I felt it needed sharing.

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:49, Reply)
Good point.
Morrisons were doing three bottles of Oakham Citra for a fiver, which is an absolute bargain for a decent beer.
Then some pricks awarded it silver in this year's Champion Beer of Britain awards and now there are none on the shelves.
(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 15:14, Reply)
Getting more difficult for sure
Brewdog has gone too expensive for what it is as well.

Yeah, would have been nice to have catch up.
If we don't make it up for that weekend, we'll arrange something else for another weekend at some point in the future.

The usual job offers of £120k pa, have been ok, my discovery of patron and rediscovery of weed from niggers and coke has been a blast, but best of all has been you guys. Money can't buy you true friendship, not a fiver not even two hundred and fifty

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 16:13, Reply)
lol

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 16:14, Reply)
Life's been pretty good to me over the last few months, not in too much bad-health, started Yoga, found some bottles of HP Guinness Sauce, gotten chummy with an old school mate and tend to go out 3-4 times a week now.

(, Wed 20 Aug 2014, 16:29, Reply)
There has probably been a shortage of that HP sauce because the 'real ale' drinkers
thought it was some special artisan brew.
