there used to be a butcher near work called Pete's Meats
He was called Pete and he did sell meat so I don't think this answers your question. Sorry.

I enjoyed this story about Pete.

Saturday morning meat fest* breakfast
Alt: My local butcher makes spurious claims about the high quality of his meat. He's lying as the only stuff I've bought from him was stewing steak and that was awful.
Altalt: The veggie option is 'fuck off and eat elsewhere you mentalist foodwrong'

*Bacon, cumberland sausages, black pudding, fried egg, mushrooms. No bread though, bread's fattening.
(, Sat 17 Jan 2015, 9:09, Reply)
fried bread is good for you.
Hard to trust butchers, it is a liars trade.

What sort of Withnail-worthy degeneracy is this, gin-tasting in the morning?
I was motivated last night to try the new steaks from my local supermarket, and wish I hadn't: they were crap.

I'm lucky enough to have Melton Mowbray not that far from me so I'm pretty sure my pork pie supply is highend
I also have 3 butchers and 2 greengrocers all within a 5 minute walk, supermarket meat and fresh Veg. is well overpriced and not that good

The invention of the internal combustion engine has meant that food products are now available more than 10 miles away from the place of their production

(, Sat 17 Jan 2015, 14:33, Reply)
I matters not, if I want a pork pie or even cornish cream tea
My local supermarket will provide for my needs, that way I can go down on my skateboard and save the planet all at the same time.
