also a non-means tested benefit for everyone of £71 a week sounds great. but giving all that money to people who don't need it seems stupid
that's a lot of money that could probably be put to much better use

But you're getting it back from the people who don't need it in tax anyway.
and it stops them whining about scroungers if everybody gets it.

No, I have a couple of freinds on facebook who are permantly locked into a public conversation about policies, I usually just side with one of them for fun

But if everyone gets it*, then the admin goes down so much that's a viable option - you can't cheat it.
I'm pretty sure i'll be quite a bit after the cutoff, but I still like the idea.

* Actually, in the Green's version - there's a cut off which hasn't been anounced yet.
