No HSH evening thread?

Here you are!

is anyone else going to try my recipe for gumbo in the what's-for-dinner thread?
I've just tasted it and it has a definite bite- I added paprika and chipotle to it. And some sugar, some molasses and some parsley. Most autumnal in flavor, especially after I added Liquid Smoke...

I'm full of stir-fry created by my own fair hand at the moment. Chicken breast pieces, spring onions (scallions to the Merkins), salad leaves and rice noodles. Gorgeous :)

probably not tonight. I did copy and paste it into my "recipes" folder, though - it looks delicious!
Evening all!

What's the topic tonight?

I'll tell you how much....
Well actually I won't as I'm too busy sobbing into my hands...

I would rather swallow my weight in razor blades than go to work tomorrow!
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 20:42, Reply)
Blunt blades or sharp blades? Also, how rusty do you want them to be?
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 20:49, Reply)
Just watched REC, Spanish horror film. It's fucking awesome!
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 20:50, Reply)
I've seen it and it's flipping brilliant!
It's being remade in the United States as "Quarantine", unfortunately!
@Piston
blunt and rusty as hell!

I wondered why it had all gone quiet over there.
Back to work tomorrow? I've been working all weekend, and still am just now. Funs.

I've had a far more productive day doing my washing, finishing off moving into my new place, helping out with decorating on a mate's house and teaching the landlord how to make stirfry.
/Edit
@ Stig
I'll see what I can arrange.

How is everyone anyways?
I had to replace a blower motor today. It reminded me why I hate working on "modern" (k reg clio) cars :(

Hey! *hugs*
I had a lovely day.
Now I'm getting drunk and watching a Spanish film

....it's that time again. I'm off to bed. Have a good evening, everyone.

I don't have anything else to do. What a strange feeling. I've done all the housework I can conceivably do, even to the point of organising my socks. I was that bored.
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 21:29, Reply)
Wanna do some of my work for me? I've got a good hour still to go most likely.
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 21:31, Reply)
But she went and lefted already.
One lot of work done for now, one more to do tonight then I can stop.
edit - hmm, gone quiet again, meaning I have no distractions. Nooooo!

At last, I am at my hotel. Have showered an am now posting to b3ta in just my underpants.
The train got in to the station I get the Eurostar from 15 minutes late but I still had plenty of time. The thing I hate the most about Eurostar is the bloody x-ray machine. GAH! Had to go through 3 times before I removed enough metal from my person. Met a friend at St. Pancras who drove me to my hotel.
And so, my new life begins.

I'm now in London. Am staying at a hotel (funded by my company's relocation bonus) until I've decided where I'm living.
EDIT: Evenin' flesh. See my previous post.

Although heading to bed soon I think. Absotively fecking knackered after doing more in one day than I have in recent weeks. Job application, bedroom tidying/organising, lots of washing, stripping a house for decorating (it's only a small house, granted), and planning a holiday to a little place called Cape Clear.

I just had a look at the news to find out why the trains were taking a different route. It turned out that two passenger trains had crashed yesterday. One of them was the same service as my train today! Fortunately, there were only minor injuries.

For both you and the other people involved. Still, I did hear about these three mice- Hickory, Dickory, and Dock. They had a habit of running up clocks- the clock sadly struck one, although the other two escaped with minor injuries.

I'm eating my dinner (half past midnight...) - spicy pork brochettes. Been quite lazy today
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 23:36, Reply)
Sounds silly to me.
Then again, I ate far too much earlier then felt very ill.
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 23:42, Reply)
It confused me too for a while, as I wondered where everyone had gone for about half an hour.
(, Sun 12 Oct 2008, 23:48, Reply)
And now, I must go to bed, for I start work tomorrow. 'night.

Hiya anyone still awake/foreign!
I still haven't heard the F1 results and I missed the highlights so will have to google that later.
I'm actually looking forward to work tomorrow, I recently started a new job so am all happy instead of feeling exploited (don't worry, it won't last too long).
Then again I really should be in bed by now instead of in the pub drinking free beer!
Later,
BDC
