This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Brighton...
...wins, hands down. THE nicest place to live in the UK, currently.

Sorry, but there you are.

I have visited once
(well, we did the London to Brighton bike ride and we were waiting for our lift home).
Seemed quite a jolly place and had some variety in the shops, better than most seaside resorts in the UK.

Shoreham FTW
But on the whole, agreed.

Southwick
I live in Southwick. Horrible place - hate it. Back stabbing, gossiping, you name it, full of judgemental cunts. A black guy had the temerity to walk through Southwick Square once (the little shopping precinct) and i over heard two old ladies say:
"he shouldn't be here you know"
"no you're right"
"yeah this is a white area"
"should we get someone to say something"
it went on

I recently did some work in my loft, laying insulation and boarding. someone complained that i left all the crap on my drive for too long and sent someone round to demand i moved it. #

I want to move back to Bognor Regis.

Brighton is awesome. Can't imagine the ladyboys of bankok showing many other place in the country.

I always like visiting Brighton
But I couldn't live there, it's a bit Shoreditch-on-Sea for my liking at times (mind, I am from Yorkshire, so Great Yarmouth's a bit Shoreditch-on-Sea).

I loved Brighton
But, like a lot of places round the area has turned into a parody of itself. Knit your own yoghurt shops, "trendy fuckers in their "trendy" clothes. Populated by DFLs.

But still it's a great town

I decided a few years back
that the best places to live in the UK were Brighton or Bristol.
I ended up in Bristol and love it. But concede that I would of also have been a happy chappy in Brighton, and visit it often.

The moral of this post. None.

Funnily enough...
...that was my own tough when deciding where to go to uni. But the idea of being able to have a cheap day out sitting on the beach swigging cans with out the police hassling you won out.

Still doing it, at 28. Summer's lovely, though the winter is admittedly a bit shit. Proper coastal wind and horizontal rain. Ick.
