I'm a fan of alot of heavier stuff, got into metal through Black Sabbath and the like, but never, ever got why these chumps were so revered. Terrible lyrics, horrible vocals, just cheese.

I've seen them several times
and aside from St Anger, I really like all of their stuff, they were my favourite band for years, but you do just have to ignore them being complete wankers. Lars particularly, the shitty little goblin.

The album I bought had a DVD of them playing St. Anger in their rehearsal area,
and with Lars having exchanged the acetylene cylinder for an actual snare drum, the songs sound a lot better.

On the album though, it renders the songs unlistenable. No idea who agreed that it was a good idea, but someone should have told them that the pint-sized Danish Emperor was actually naked.

but I agree with the Lars comments - what a cackhanded twat!.....if only Hetfield had told him to fuck off & got Dave Lombardo instead....ho hum....
