This is a question "You're doing it wrong"

Chthonic confesses: "Only last year did I discover why the lids of things in tubes have a recessed pointy bit built into them." Tell us about the facepalm moment when you realised you were doing something wrong.

Parts of the US, they'll write you a ticket if you dare to park against the flow of traffic.

Yep, same in lots of parts of the world.

But not in the UK
And not on an out of the way residential street. People double park down our street all the time, it's crazy.

In theory though,
the same rule applies here if I remember rightly.
(*awaits correction*)

Possibly
my dad has always said it's a bad idea but I've never heard of anyone actually gtting a ticket for it.

Ticket?
Should all be taken out and shot. The sheer impudence.

Not going to correct you but..........
I have been parking my car against the flow of traffic for the 7 years we've lived in our house.
It's permit only parking here so we often have traffic wardens ticketing people and I've never had a ticket.

Its legal park against the flow of traffic in a marked bay in a 30mph limit IIRC.
ISTR Its also illegal to park on the roadside without sidelights at night in anything above a 30mph limit
