Ha ha ha! I love this compo...
Meanwhile, threadjack:
Bilbobarneybobs - The Picturedome, 14/06/07
Intense, brooding, gloomy. These are all words that bear no relevance to the turbo-charged superfunk of what fans affectionately call the Triple-B, and tonight's brash display of colours, costumes and tunes so good they could drop a horse at twenty paces just confirms that Triple-B is here to stay.
Crowd favourite, "Ain't Nuttin' But A Duck Thang" threatens to implode the veune - a special one off homecoming gig. By the time we reach the giddy heights of "Supa-Broam" its as if the technicolour sherbet dip of badass funk has taken over the world.
Catch this while you can, and bring some sunglasses.
4.5/5

Keyboard Weasel - Dagenham Chav Exchange 14/06/07
Oh dear Christ. I have to wonder what I've done to offend the editor, as I arrive at the Chav Exchange feeling woefully out of place, and dreading what is about to unfold.
Yes, it's Keyboard Weasel's tour of London Suburbs, and with a faux inner city accent remniscent of Jamie T or Kate Nash, soon the 'street' stylings of KW are in 'full effect'. recent single "Studmuffin Got Me Dole Chex" grinds through, making me wish that my ears were fictitious. Things only get worse however, as we're treated to a display of KW's arse crack on "Kiss Dem Batty An' Lyk It."
The one redeeming feature is that it's a short set, a saving grace that earns this one:
1.5/10

Mighty Nibus - Sludgecore Dronefest, Iceland - Slough 14/06/07
What to say about legendary Sludgecore sextet Mighty Nibus? They've made a career out of playing one note, and in a festival of various imitators it could be difficult to stand out.
But that would be to write off Mighty Nibus too soon. Opening (and closing, and inbetween) song "Rotting Flesh Chanson Number 6" opts for G#, considered by many to be the quintessential note of drone sludge. That they take this note, play it for two hours and yet STILL no-one loses patience is testament both to the skill of the band and the massively high nature of the audience.
At one point, Mighty Nibus himself surprises everyone by changing from Railway Tickets Jammed in a Keyboard, to the Ukelele for a more light hearted passage. It doesn't go unnoticed, and the crowd go partially less comatose.
this is drone at its very best. DROOOOOOONE.

Mediocre - Wolverhampton Civic Centre - 14/0666
WAAAGHGHGHAAARAGAGH!!!! GRAAAGGHG!!!
I can't make out a word of what's going on, but that doesn't matter, the punishing riffs and gutteral howls of rage more than accurately convey the mood.
After an intro of two songs back to back ("Spine" and "Entrails") Mediocre finally acknowledges the crowd wih a charming "Greetings scum. Have you come to rock?" The response is overwhelming. So overwhelming in fact that the walls of the Civic Centre begin to shake a little. Worrying, but on we go.
Heartfelt slow number "PJ Und Duncan Tittybiskitttt" almost has the crowd in tears, and then it happens. The cracks grow rapidly, and everyone is evacuated. We watch from the street as the Civic Centre collapses under the weight of death metal. Awesome.
