Having been on a motorway, about 300 yards from an upturned car...
whilst driving at 70mph, I have to say the woman on the hard shoulder waving a jacket was in no way helpful.
I was thinking "what the hell is wrong with that... OH SHIIIIIIIT!".
I can imagine some flash photography isn't going to help someone who works in dark subterranean tunnels all day long.
Now - maybe he thought that....
Now - he had a camera with a flash - so there is some chance he was extremely far away, and additionally had a moderately good lens...

I reckon most people
would just freeze in shock rather than be in a state to help.
Seems weird that someone could be calm enough to get their camera out and take a picture, though. I suspect they would register highly on the psychopath test. As would the newspaper editor who had time to think.

What the place that keeps getting blown up..
Mainly because its just full of fat Isrealis? The hotel next to mine was blown up by fundamentalists when I was there about 5 years ago.
The main reason thing like this move so fast is exactly because the moderate middle don't do anything - Look at what happened in Nazi Germany.
Once you give nutters free rein once its incredibly difficult to get them to stop.

The moderate middle class are often those keeping society together by getting up, going to work, raising kids, etc.
They cannot mobilize as quickly. It is a shame, because Egypt was looking like one of the more normal middle east countries for a while there.

Umm, I think it's brilliant
these people are demonstrating against something they think (and most of the rest of the world probably thinks) is wrong. If only people in Europe got this excited about abuses of power instead of moaning about it over a pint.

2012 Film Trailer Mashup.
Full list of films here: sleepyskunk.tumblr.com/
Also starts off with one of my favourite tracks from Koyaanisqatsi, and contains more explosions than you can shake a stick with a bit of poo on the end at.

Damn,
I thought this would be a cynical take on how most film trailers look the same with their fading in and fading out and their WOOOOOOHMMMMMM sounds and explosions.
I wasn't expecting it to be good. I am disappoint.

A shameless begging letter for votes
A few weeks ago a fellow B3tan posted up details of an online song comp being held by Red Dog music. Anyway, I stuck one of my tracks up and was a bit flabbergasted to get down to the last 5. All I can put it down to is that maybe only 5 people entered.
Thing is, the prize is a rather spiffy accoustic guitar that I'd love to win, as I'd like to donate it to a music therapy charity that helps disabled kids etc, or even brush up the old geetar skills and get out there and do some volunteer work myself.
So even if you hate the song (Which you might well do as B3TA seems to be replete with dubstep and electronic music fans), I'd consider it a mahoosive favour if you could vote for it anyway. It's called Bang Bang.
Thanks in advance for tolerating a bit of spamcuntery.

Still, you get clickage for being a B3tan, although I nearly didn't for that John Lewis ad you posted a minute ago ;-)
And that's a prize worthy of spammage. I've had a rather lovely Tanglewood acoustic for about 11 years now. Lovely thing.

Yeah, they're lovely. I've played others and nothing else (in the same price range) comes close.
I'm also more of a keyboards man but felt obliged to learn guitar. Easier to learn and more intuitive to play (somehow) but piano/keyboard's always been my weapon of choice.

Haven't seen them in the US, but the specs look nice.
I upgraded my gig acoustic a few years ago from a Takamine. Nice, but didn't hit the spot. Looked at the Taylors and Martins, but am not rich like Tabby, so started looking at a Quebec luthier, Godin. The guy who lives in the house behind me owns a music shop and allowed me to order, play and send back many guitars. I settled on a Seagull guitar with built in electronics and a flame maple back. Light, durable, beautiful and has never let me down playing live.

It's fucking frightening that these adverts are now just as eagerly anticipated and documented as Christmas itself.
The advertising cunts must be circle-jerking into their office advent calendar. If it was clever or witty, it might breach the boundaries of acceptability, but it's not. It's commercial sentimentalism at its lowest ebb. Cunts.
