Hehehe
also I think the idea of this 'Ringo leaving the building' business. Can he leave the world also?

Aww, he's not that bad
and totally undeserving of the joke:
Q. What do you call a cunt who hangs round with musicians?
A. Ringo Starr.

Hahaha!
He is that bad, he's an overrated tosser that totally believes all the (undeserved) hype that's sprung forth like an explosive bowel movement from the mouths of people who obviously don't have ears.
Except you. You're lovely.

A lot of the worst singers/musicians are in the best bands
Shane McGowan - can't sing, good songs
Bob Dylan - can't sing
White stripes woman - can't drum
Pete Docherty - can't sing

I don't even think the Beatles were one of the best bands.
Yeah, they were alright, but bollocks were they the best band ever.
Although you're right- James Brown was a cunt but I still adore his music.

I'm not saying they were the best either
but they do have lots of memorable songs, which is why people haven't forgotten about them.

That, and people won't shut up about them.
And they're merchandised to death.

But they did do a lot of stuff first.
As pioneers, they didn't always know what they were doing.
I'm not quite sure why I'm defending the Beatles as I'm not that partial to them myself either, but there you go.

I also have no idea
who told Dave Mustain that he could sing. Or Jimmy Hendrix.

The same person who said to him
'You were in Metallica? Really? You know, I bet nobody knows that. You should probably tell them.'

Sorry, but I'm in quite fervent disagreement with you there.
My drummer, who's 24 is far more accomplished, talented and generally better, IMO. Plus he's not a self satisfied cunt like Ringo.
But hey, opinion is king.

I don't doubt it, mine's a big tall gangly git.

Hehehe, right
we are:
two guitarists, one big and dready and one shorter and most of the time baldy with massive beard (for the purposes of illustration imagine Nick Olivieri but less ugly and a lot more clothed- he'll probably hate me for saying that but the hair choices are similar), little lady bassist (hello) and aforementioned drummer.

ours runs thus:
singer: 80s soft metalhead
guitarist 1: tall geeky indiepop kid
guitarist 2: Mr Classic Rock
dub-obsessed Jewish bassist
me on drums - I like field recordings and the Uzbekistani doutar
needless to say, the rhythm section dominates everything else, and I am in entirely the wrong band

I'm just a geek drummer in that I just want to sound like a TR-808

he may not be
be the most technically proficient drummer in the world, but technique soon becomes boring if there is no thought or creativity behind it, which I would argue is true for all instruments.
In my opinion, Ringo's drumming in The Beatles was original, musical and full of personality. But if you don't like it, then that's that I suppose.
I try my best not to find out anything about the personalities of the people who make music I like. They almost always turn out to be cunts and that kind of spoils it for me.

Tell me about it, I'm a huge Zeppelin fan.
Apparently Robert Plant's a complete and utter twatbag. And I've been in love with the man for about 12 years now.

Ringo played on pretty much everything
with the exception of a couple of tunes from the first sessions with EMI (Love me do and some other stuff) and The Ballad of John and Yoko which was Paul on drums.
There may be one or two other tracks I am forgetting about, but it was almost entirely Ringo,
