This is a normal post [intrigued]
I did enjoy Prometheus, but only as a throwaway B-movie experience, it didn't seem to fully exploit the Alien heritage and had far too many plot WTF's (attributable to the Lost guy?). On the plus side it did have Charlize Theron in a tight catsuit, so I can forgive.

This is a normal post It looks beautiful and I can admire it for that, but the plot is unforgivably stupid
and has so many WTF moments you just don't care about the characters. I mean, two guys get left behind and NOBODY NOTICES. They are in an alien environment and they TAKE THEIR HELMETS OFF. The lead archaeologist is a massive nob. Why do they put him in charge? I could go on.

As I said though, beautifully filmed.

This is a normal post It's the only film I've watched and thought
I wish I was watching this in 3D.

BUT, like you say, beautiful to look at, but absolute bobbins narratively

This is a normal post I didn't like it, but to be fair,
someone had told me that Vickers was Wayland's daughter so it kind of spoiled the whole plot for me.

Sounds like it's from a slightly different genre...

This is a normal post Why the fuck didn't they make that instead of the dire quasi religious shit they made instead?

This is a normal post Saves for later.
I wasn't really grabbed by the hype, but I thought that the teasers were neat. Then I saw it in the theatre and I was a bit disappointed. For a Ridley Scott-sci-fi it just seemed so shallow. That Lost writer should've been smacked with a ruler when he tried to touch this. Not telling people what is happening is not the same thing as being clever.

This is a normal post Can someone summarise?
I'm curious about what is different, but I have a day job and a family.

This is a normal post I've scanned about half way through
It makes more sense than the filmed script. Worth a read, if only for what could have been.

This is a normal post Finished it.
It's better than what was filmed. Essentially the same but without the general untidiness of the filmed script. You can see where new stuff got shoehorned in and why it ended up a mess.

edit: Lead archaeologist is less of a nob, which is a good thing. David is less ambiguous which is the only slightly rubbish thing. Vickers has a reason to behave like a nob and a real reason for being there. The two guys who get lost still get lost, but in a less rubbish way. All the plot points are there, but all the religious guff and mysterious bollocks has been left out.

"The god’s head sits in its murky vat, shedding skin and tofulike chunks of white flesh. The noble face disintegrating."

I am outraged that they did not compare the decayed head to tofu in the film. What kind of agenda was Lindeloff really pursuing?

This is a normal post It felt like that the Alien films
Were a spin off from Prometheus.

This is a normal post From the looks of things it seems a little better.
But then I haven't read it from cover to cover. By Christ though the film we got was a load of old balls. Pretty but balls.
