only problem is it would make the dance and cdc gif parties a nightmare40mb of gifs to download would become 200mb which is probably an instant turn off for those on capped broadband/browsing on their phone.
One work around might be new posts can be 1-2mb but replies/reposts stay under 400k. But that would be a pain in the arse to keep reminding people.
