when i was a kid, i overheard my dad's booming voice say something to my mother about the budget being bad or in trouble
i tumbled down the stairs in panic and fear.

i'd thought he said "budgie".

luckily it lived another 10 years after that.

you can convert an s&s isa directly to cash, then put it in your pension to get the higher rate tax relief at 40%
Then at 55, let your tax rate drop to basic, take the 25% tax free lump sum and have the rest taxed at 20%.
