my fancy new work phone is some fancy galaxy thing
it's loaded with apps. i use it for emails only. and yet because of all the stupid apps, the battery lasts 24 hours. POINTLESS.

Have you thought of maybe deleting or disabling the apps you don't use?

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:25, Reply)
I'm no expert in these matters, but I'm fairly sure it'll be as simple as:
SETTINGS - APPS - REMOVE UNUSED APPS? - YES

i don't have a clue how it works
it has eye recognition, this thing where you can wave your hands over the top and it does stuff without contact, i can drag an approximation of a word over the screen and it types it for me... man.

That's called 'swype' and it's one of the best Android features.
That sounds like the Galaxy S4. That's what I've got - it's a pretty nice phone.

And if you're watching a video of something, it knows you're watching and stuff.
It's like MAGIC

All seems a bit Orwellian to me

When you download some apps you have to be careful to look at the permissions.
Facebook messenger wants access to your text messages for some reason.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:40, Reply)
There was a Blackberry Enterprise client app I downloaded as an experiment for work.
It said "installing this app will give your BES adminstrator the ability to modify and delete personal data".

The fucking thing gave itself admin rights over your entire phone.

I'm waiting for the first one to demand permission to have a go on your missus
or the soul of your first born child, or something.

Facebook snoops around everything on your phone and computer.

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:49, Reply)
I haz a Galaxy.
I hate how they all come with bloatware now. Android moreso with all the google stuff.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:26, Reply)
you should try an 'HTC One'

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:28, Reply)
they are for povs and chavs

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:28, Reply)

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:30, Reply)
how many big corporates use HTC as their business phones?

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:32, Reply)
I don't care
I'm not the kind of vapid idiotic cunt that views mobile telephones as status symbols or indicators of income level.

'Treacs'.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:33, Reply)
You are exactly that sort of vapid idiotic cunt.

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:34, Reply)

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:35, Reply)
My mistake.

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:37, Reply)
wut?
When I last upgraded I had the full choice available, I just went for the best phone.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:38, Reply)
HA! You are though.

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:36, Reply)
and a large part of choice of business phone is down to marketing.

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:34, Reply)
Nope. HTC's are actually understated.
Im wanting one for my next phone. The specs on the HTC M8 are just geektastic.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:35, Reply)
but then you'll have something that dozer thinks is good
that cannot be a good thing
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:36, Reply)
I know, but it's like one thing in all the things he thinks he has superior taste in.
Which, let's face it, is everything.
The odds are against us

the 'povs' thing is funny, most mobiles are 'free' with a contract
Very few people actually buy handsets.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:37, Reply)
you look like a massive metal headed pov

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:39, Reply)
you just look massive

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:39, Reply)
Free, no such thing as free. Compare Sim only contracts to Phone + Sim contracts and then Unlocked
phone prices. Pfft, free. I am now doubting all your sage financial pearls.
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:48, Reply)
yes, hence 'free'

(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:49, Reply)
Well, you pay for the device over the time of your contract, really.
Same as for when you get a "free" plasma telly
(, Thu 10 Apr 2014, 12:52, Reply)
It's not the apps, they don't actually run unless you start them up, it's just that battery technoology hasn't kept up with phone tech and demands.
