I'm cooking roast pork,
any suggestions of what to do with some cabbage i have as a side vegetable?
(, Sun 1 Mar 2015, 18:48, Reply)
do it sous vide

(, Sun 1 Mar 2015, 18:51, Reply)
The only recipe I found for that says cook it for 4 hours,
nope.
(, Sun 1 Mar 2015, 18:52, Reply)
4 hours is not long enough.
if time is an issue, slice it to quarters or eighths depending on size of cabbage, remove heart, boil without salt. Then drizzle sweet balsamic to cut the tart bitterness of the cabbage. Really matches up nice with the English mustard om the pork.
(, Sun 1 Mar 2015, 18:54, Reply)
if you break it up it tends to go all soggy and I reckon cabbage is better with a crunch.

I'm baaa-ack
Saturday evening had dinner with her brother and his wife and a family friend and his wife. Went well, apart from when the friend asserted that Harry Redknapp was a better manager than Roy Hodgson. Somewhat excuseable as he is a Liverpool fan, but I put up a spirited defence. He also thought Ched Evans was hard done by, rather harder to excuse that.

Sunday Lunch with the brother and wife and kids and mum and dad. All went swimmingly. I am absolutely stuffed now though.
(, Sun 1 Mar 2015, 19:53, Reply)
Aww, I hoped the thing would be like 'dans big log' out of the macc lads.
