So last night
True Blood started showing on Channel 4. I watched it and thought it was pretty good. Anyone else see it? Has anyone watched it already on satellite/illegal download? Does it stay good?

I've heard from the gay to my right that it's basically porn

There were quite a lot of boobies in last nights episode
but they also had some graphic violence and use of the word "Cunt"
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:16, Reply)
No wonder you like it,
I hope you then watched Generation Kill because that's excellent telly.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:17, Reply)
Season 2 certainly is

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:39, Reply)
It seemed ok,
I guess. I'll keep watching until I get bored, or overly confused.

my friend stacey says it stays good

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:20, Reply)
As a general rule of thumb,
never trust the opinion of someone called Stacey.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:21, Reply)
normally I would be with you on this
but she isn't like most people called stacey, and can be trusted to have opinions on things like film and tv
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:45, Reply)
It was OK
But the fucking advert breaks that came 7 minutes apart were a pain in the arse.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:26, Reply)
Oh hell yes.
There's something very wrong when a UK channel puts so many adverts in that they inflate the runtime of a US show...
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:31, Reply)
I think it was on a subscription channel in the US,
so there weren't many ads
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:33, Reply)
IMDB has the runtime at 60mins per episode,
so a quarter of the timeslot it was given last night consisted of adverts.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:37, Reply)
just be glad you don't live in Spain
here, the general practice is - start a program, wait two minutes, then adverts (which run anything up to 8 minutes, though they do say how long they will be). the same at the end - two minutes left, 5 minutes of adverts, then return for the final 2 minutes (which includes credits).

Makes me long for the bbc
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:33, Reply)
This is true
When I saw it started at 10 and finished at 11:20 I thought it must have been some extra long pilot episode or something. But no.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 12:34, Reply)
I have it recorded and am watching it tonight!
I'm so excited. My mate assures me I will love it.
I may have to skip past the credits. The song is amazing and reminds me of my summer. And summer's over.

I watched season 1 the other week
and enjoyed it, I'll probably do season 2 sometime in the next week or so.

I AM the resident True Blood lover.
Really, I've read all the books, KNOW THE WHOLE PLOT, and have watched all episodes [although the show is quite different from the books on some points]

it really REALLY is great
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 13:38, Reply)
My freind's read all the books
She's promised not to ruin it for me.
Please do likewise haha.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:06, Reply)
I'm hardly capable [I suppose you mean don't tell you about season 1 or 2 and I won't :)] unless you intend to read the books
the show stays in the general area of the plot but takes many different roads to get there
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:22, Reply)
Oh that's ok then
hello as well.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:33, Reply)
HELLO
It's veryveryvery good. If I ever recommended a show, it was this one. I should be on their street team or something.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:34, Reply)
I hope to god my recorder has worked...
You will hear the screams from Virginny if it hasn't.
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:36, Reply)
OH I HOPE SO TOO

(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:37, Reply)
Seen both seasons
and read all the books. Love it!
(, Thu 8 Oct 2009, 14:45, Reply)
Even if you don't like the series,
Jace Everett is an eye opener. If you do nowt else this week listen to red revelations.

PS Main female character - Sucky. In a vampire series? Chortle.
