This is a question Question of the Week suggestions

Each week we ask a question. The idea is to generate material that's:

* interesting to read, i.e. we won't get bored of reading the answers after about 10 of them
* not been asked on this site before
* fun to answer

What would you like to ask? (We've left this question open - so feel free to drop in ideas anytime.)

What's your most amazing coincidence?
One evening myself and my wife decided to drive to visit for the first time a "famous" pub just outside Buxton, even though it was 45 miles from home. We walked in to be greeted by my wife's best friend, who'd decided, on a whim, to drive to visit for the first time the same "famous" pub just outside Buxton, even though it 45 miles from home - in the opposition direction to us.

What's your most face-slapping coincidence?

I'll reply here in case it doesnt get picked - although it should....

I climbed Mt.Snowdon on a whim one saturday after thinking of doing it on Friday night.
Found out the following monday that a colleague from my office had had the same whim at the same time and also climbed Snowdon that day via a different route

On comparing photograph timestamps we found we'd missed each other at the summit by less than half an hour. Would have been properly weird if we'd met there. Or stalkerish....

I can only imagine someone had mentioned Snowdon in the office and both of us had subliminally picked it up, but neither of us could remember it as we'd both decided to go after getting home on Friday night. This wasn't a short trip for either of us - Snowdon's 5 hours drive away - nor something either of us made a habit of.

in 1998 I was on a stopover in Adelaide on a Sunday. Took the idea to walk along the avenue of trees (can't remember the name of it), each dedicated to a fallen WW2 Aussie soldier. Walking the other way was a guy I'd served my apprenticeship with, who'd left RR on the same day I did and who I hadn't seen for about 10 years. He had a stopover in Adelaide and had just decided to walk along the same avenue.
We went and got very drunk.

Your wife is having a lesbian affair,
and was planning on meeting up at this pub miles away, but couldn't sneak out of the house without you noticing and wanting to accompany her.
Sorry.

Gak! It's okay as it was 18 years ago, and we are now happily divorced.

Look, you can just say 'we went dogging'. Nobody here is judging you.
