This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

First funny story of the week.

...
I was going to mention Thetford in my post earlier in the week but I hit post instead of preview and couldn't be arsed to edit.

We spent a lot of time there as kids. For some unfathomable reason my dad bought a caravan and so the whole family went camping one weekend a month, without fail, usually around Thetford.

You probably don't need me to explain how bloody tedious that was.

I lived here for one year
and went out intown twice.

I bought a house in the expensive end of town, at 42,250. 10 years back. It was brand new. On 16K the 3 times salary rule meant i could buy almost anywhere in town at all.

When the estate agents eye lit up, i knew there was something deeply wrong.

Potato headed swingers mainly, violent thugs the rest.

That pub that got smashed up when portugal knocked us out of the Euros - the portuguese owners were hiding inside it from the angry Thetford villagers as they tried to burn and pitchfork them out.
