# Here's a tale
In the early 80's a whole bunch of us lived in a big house, which we owned. It was a free kinda place where at night we'd play music have bonfires in the garden and have fire-eaters, uni-cyclists and were generally free easy going people.

We treated our neighbours with respect and they even joined in on occasion but generally we were clean living hippies who enjoyed ourselves...

the local constabulary however didn't fell the same. They took exception to one of us called "kung-foo Steve". Steve was a martial arts expert who leant towards the good side of the force and used martial arts as a spiritual side of meditation.

They raided us one night and Steve was 'arrested' and given a pasting in the back of a meat wagon. At the station 4 coppers tried to bash him up some more. One of them held his face whilst he was pinned down and another squared up to demolish his face - so steve bit the end of the copper's finger.

He was thrown into a cell and awaited a further pasting.

In Kensignton High court when he gave testimony he explained to the judges and jury that he assumed the lotus position and meditated in preparation of the forthcoming beating.

Half way through the prosecution (10 mins later) the judge leant forward and asked

"Can anyone tell me what the latest position is?" The judge could see what was going on and deliberately broke the flow of the prosecuting counsel.

It was obvious to all and sundry that the police had collaborated their evidence and the jury were summarily dismissed and the case thrown out of court.

Justice you say.

Huh. one month later we were 'raided' by a bunch of cops who HAD NO NUMBERS (which is illegal) on their uniforms. They smashed the place up, intimitated us. Abused, both physically and verbally women and children and behaved liked cunts.

Our complaints were met with disdain and we, in the end, decided that as we had had our day in court leave it alone.

to this day Steve is a marked man and nbow lives abroad.

I accept that police are a neccesary part of law and order but do not accept abuse of such power
so here's an undercover pig

# I guess
an epoch is a defined period of time. whenever you want that to be.

the unix epoch started then, and will run out when too many seconds have gone by for current computer numbers to cope with (some time in June 2038 for 32-bit machines, but hopefully we'll all be using bigger machines by then).

how's you? did you put my mini on your mini colour site?

I've finally come to the conclusion that as and when I refurbish it, it'll have to stay this colour - it's just too unusual to allow it to disappear from the local roads! however, this will require sourcing a replacement cream-coloured vinyl roof... any ideas?

# ello.
fine thanks.

yup your mini is:

here (including click-for-big)

I believe the original roof should be tan, rather than cream. You'll probably not find the stripes for the sides. You might try "Newton Commercial", they specialise in authentic old trim and stuff.

There's a guy in our mini club restoring a rose 1100 special, I'll ask him if I remember.

[edit: I should note I was offered another pic for that colour this week. I turned it down, of course :o)]
(, Fri 12 Sep 2003, 21:49, archived)
# the stripes
are sold by loads of places from what I've seen... they're just regular graphics.

I do think it's more creamy than tan though, on the roof (edit: it's similar in shade to the caps on vanilla coke bottles...) - although right now it's white household emulsion, thanks to a former bodger. ah well, the interior's not stock and won't be returning to it, so maybe the roof will change too - I wanna stick a webasto in there anyhow.

yay for keeping a b3ta pic, even if it's got witchy's name linked to my car ;)
(, Fri 12 Sep 2003, 21:53, archived)
#
Ah yes... I spotted that the white wasn't right, but didn't realise it was paint.

I didn't know whether to link the car owner or photo taker... difficult one. I'll add your name too, if you like... what credit would you like?

I wouldn't bother to cheer him on, but I wouldn't bother to give him abuse either.

He wouldn't do it if he hadn't worked out a safe and easy way of doing it. He chose to do it. He's getting paid to do it. Just let him get on with it. Not worth getting into trouble for.

# I think it's the smug '10% better than jesus stuff'
whereby he expects us all to bow down and say he's amazing, which isn't really how it works in this country, fortunately.
That said, irritating as he is, I too couldn't be arsed to go all the way there (well, one stop down from my office...) just to abuse him, in fact I couldn't be arsed to switch the telly on to watch him.
