Third EVER Derby Bash!
Heheh, thought I'd drop this in here so I can start gauging when people would prefer the bash to be this year, or even venue etc. most of the details are changable right now :)



The past two have been October, so I've set this one for the beginning of the month 2008, obviously a long way away yet but I'd really appreciate some preferences trickling through. I'll stick with the same venue unless I get requests otherwise as I quite enjoyed having our own bar last year!

UPDATE: 22/04/08 The majority of votes seems to be falling on Oct. 4th so I have gone ahead and booked the function room for that date now, it's only provisional for now but I think most people are happy for that to be the one :)

UPDATE: 13/06/08 We are officially booked in and paid up for the 4th October now, so get signing up dilly-dalliers ;)
As with last year there will be floor space available but it is limited unless you are just after somewhere to stick a sleeping bag down. Basically there is a sofa, (small) double sofa bed, double mattress and two single mattresses up for kippage. In theory this means we can put up seven people (reasonably) comfortably, with the potential for a couple more if desperate and happy to be on the floor.

Floor space:

2. Laird Dave

...but please let me know if you don't want/need the crash space!

For those of you still looking for somewhere to stay try looking here
The International is just 60 seconds from our flat (10 mins from the pub) which has some very mixed reviews online, but a few people we know have stayed there and haven't had any complaints
Another option is the Heritage Hotel which is in the town centre and a fair few b3tans have crashed before.

I've been led to believe that we can get into the room from about 5:30pm but myself and the Prof will probably be down there from around 4pm due to band-settage-uppage (Prof) and general faux-alcoholism (Me).

It has decent music and some life to it
there's no accounting for taste ;)

The first year we were packed downstairs and it had the most amazing atmosphere, and the second we were upstairs in the function room and had our own bar!
I must admit I have no complaints about that place, and it's one of my favourite pubs in Derby :)

I considered going to the last one, but I can't remember why I didn't go. Anyway, assuming fundages are sufficient to afford the train (which would be topping £30, so not like I can't afford it), I might actually be up for this one. Might being the keyword, as my life changes so goddam often that I can't be sure that I'll even be in the same country by then..

If I were to go, I would need some form of crashspace (I'm good with beds, floors and I've even slept on stairs).

Heritage Hotel
I've stayed there a few times, it's cheap and right in the center. One time there was a half full/empty vodka bottle in the wardrobe. I left it for the next guest.

I used to call it suicide hotel
The only time I've ever stayed there (when I needed to spend the night when I was accomodation hunting!) it had been done up a bit from the times it had got its name, these days I recommend it to people for exactly that- cheap and central.

For all those that wanted to make it but can't for whatever reason, I'll hopefully be doing another 'Wall o'Regret' with the names of people and even a message to the congregation of the 3rd (EVER!) Derby bash if you so wish.
Last year I also printed images with names for those who sent them and I'm wanting to do this again, but my printer gave up some time ago and so unless I can find some alternative arrangements it will just be a black and white wall this year.

If you want to be included please reply here, or just gaz me with what you want and I'll do my best :)

And if any kind soul feels capable of helping me get the wall sheets printed up then drop me a quick message and we can discuss my never ending gratitude!
