While many of you will be familiar with the Rev. K. F. Lord's happy snap of the altar at Skelton-cum-Newby Church of Christ the Consoler, North Yorkshire, taken in 1963, the first photograph (below) from the same session doesn't seem to be as well known. This baffles me.
