Whatever.
I'm still buying one. If Sony want to market themselves to students who trade in games and can't afford a broadband connection then they're welcome to do it. They just won't make any money. If you can't afford broadband you shouldn't be wasting your money on video games.

It's not always about beeing broke.
A lot of people dont have access to broadband and have to rely on dial-up.

It's not that simple though is it.
What if you live somewhere which has really bad connectivity. Or what if a cable is accidentally cut and you have no internet for a while? It just renders the computer useless.
Not to mention your router packing up and having to wait for a new one.

Also when you switch ISPs
And you're without internet for weeks. Or 4 months, like I was when swopping from BT to Virgin.

When we moved house we spent about 3 months stripping and decorating it before we got everything hooked up and connected again.
The only thing that preserved sanity was being able to access games and DVD box sets in a completely offline environment. Having to set up your broadband and wireless in an environment where you're stripping wallpaper, plastering, sanding, painting, etc, just so you can access your own stuff for which you have paid, seems a bit crap to me.

im still in the xbox camp too.
Sony monged up the PS3 launch good and proper, and lost me as a customer, and even led me to hate sony. Theyve bounced back, and it seems like MS are the ones who are cocking up the launch of their new console now, but im still rooting for the Xbox one, as i love my 360 and its game franchises.
Really dont know why everyone is shitting rage turds over the 'always connected' thing though. I can honestly say ive never unplugged my 360 (and even my blu ray player) from the internet. The trading in of games is a bit of a problem, but what with PC games having DRM and all, i assume its how everything is going these days anyway.
The XB1 is capable of playing the same quality games as the PS4 - its not like its powered by a hamster on a wheel. Its still a great bit of kit and it lets me play all those purdy games.

that's shit

I think playing games would be the least of your priorities if you've only just moved in to a new house.
But i know what you mean. Soldiers and folks on ships and oil rigs are gonna be pissed

Also, with regards to this only one game working for one console,
what if your console gets broken somehow? Will you have to buy all of the games again?

It's utter bullshit.
If you have bought the game in a physical format, it should be yours to do with what you will, within reason obviously. Could you imagine the uproar if sony or disney did that with CDs or DVDs?

Ok, so WHY are you buying an Xbox1 over PS4?
I'm genuienly interested to know, becuase at the moment the PS4 is a no brainer. I have fibre obtic always on broadband but i don't like the path they are taking with the Xbox one. I'll probably end up owning both like I do now.

2 reasons
1) The TV integration. My 360 is the main hub of the living room. I stream stuff from my PC to it, I use it for music, skype, pretty much everything. The XB1 looks a giant leap forward from that. Channel surf with my voice? Hell yeah.
2) I have kids and the xbox is way more kid friendly with Kinect etc.
If I was single and played console games online and swapped games etc then I'd buy a PS4. Since I'm a PC gamer with kids and everyone uses the xbox in the house, it's a way better fit for me.

Pretty sure PS4 has all of those features too
*shrugs*
I have a PS3 and Xbox 360 and I use my PS3 and the central TV/Gaming hub and the Xbox purly for gaming.
If you've got a lot of friends who you play multiplayer one of the deciding factors is "what console does everyone else have". Out of the group of people I play with that have all said PS4 (they all previously owned Xbox's
