RIP Dad
I made this!
NOT TOO DEPRESSING I PROMISE.
My dad passed away a few weeks back. Somebody posted the news on here as he was the creator of The Trap Door and various other animated nuggets during the 80s/90s. I know I've talked about him a lot on these forums.
I put together some clips of him and his work. Hopefully some of you will be entertained by it!

I hope Fimo clay gave him shares,
considering 80s kids only ever bought that to make their own Trap Door characters.

I loved Trap Door
Many great childhood memories! I still shout "Berk! Feed me!" in a booming voice at my wife when I am hungry.

However did you become a B3tan with a well-hinged Dad like that.
Trap Door was one of my face shows. Still utterly brilliant. I've got a 7-month-old at the mo who is going to be tutored in the ways of Trap, Chorlton, Chigley and Ulysses. Sorry for your loss but that's a brill legacy to leave.

I enjoyed Trap Door first time round
Now enjoying it for a second time as I got the DVD for my son, who thinks it's great too.

I remember news of his death making the links board a few weeks ago
and I'd just like to offer my sympathies. Obviously a great bloke, who will be missed.
Nice work on the tribute as well, always good to see a little bit of the person behind the work.

Wonderful
Sad at your loss but uplifting at the same time. Though cut short what a life he/you all had together and happy memories of his work which we all have. Thank you for sharing.

I was a founding member of The Trap Door Club at school
I mean, it's nothing compared to your Dad's achievements, but still.

Hey dude, I watched the video yesterday
but I didn't really have much to really add, aside my obvious condolences.
I was just working away there, and I started thinking back about Trapdoor - I was such a Scaredy Cat that I used to avoid watching it. All children's TV in the 1980s seemed to just exist to give me nightmares. The kid who had his laugh stolen, the post-nuclear but ancient Cities of Gold animation, all that kinds of stuff.
Anyways, that show had the classic Roald Dahl style openly grottiness to it which I love and admire. The other work showcased in the video is also, the kind of stuff that people are proud to be "British" because of - if you get my point. We are all proud of his work.
I still have a dad kicking about, and I don't have the world's best shoulder for grieving purposes; but I am sorry for your loss. All the best to you and yours.

Loved Trapdoor - still love it. How great is it to have a dad who made so many of us so happy?

That was delightful.
My wife and I will pull out the Trap Door DVD in his honour. Like some excuse was needed...

Thank you all for the comments.
It was his funeral today and the thing that's kept me going is reading all the lovely things people have been saying about him. He'd have been embarrassed and overwhelmed. Thank you.
