making this...

This is a normal post Do not look at lighter with remaining eye.
Any laser capable of lighting things is incredibly dangerous. Reflections from surfaces like glossy paper would be enough to blind you with this toy.

This is a normal post Or to rephrase.
This idiot has no idea what he is doing, and you would have to be some kind of moron to make one of those.

This is a normal post I'm going to give the one I make
to a small child so they can show off to their mates at school. Don't worry though, I will responsibly tell them not to shine it in peoples eyes as it might hurt a bit.

This is a normal post Is that really what's inside an AA battery?
I thought they were full of a wad of something soaked in acid.
(, Sun 22 Nov 2009, 17:34, , Reply)
This is a normal post It's not an AA battery.
He refers to it as a 12 volt battery, but it's not something I'm familier with.
(, Sun 22 Nov 2009, 18:01, , Reply)
This is a normal post It's a home made 12 V battery in an AA wrapper.

This is a normal post ^this is wrong.^
Its an american 12v battery

This is a normal post I stand corrected.
I assumed he had made it because he mentioned a 12 v battery project.

This is a normal post An A23 to be precise.
A snip at only £1.79 for a cheapshit branded one at Maplin. Maplin were cheap once, you know.

And remotes that don't work because he's ripped the batteries all to pieces... For the love of God, man, just go down the pound shop. They sell a hundred button batteries for a quid!

This is a normal post donno,

This is a normal post hmm
Cool as this is, I have to wonder about the wisdom of posting information like this to the internet where moronic chavs will think its funny to shine that in the eyes of passing motorists.

This is a normal post One would think
that anyone dumb enough to do that, probably couldn't sit through the video without being distracted by something shiny...

they'd not realise it was utter bullshit.

This is a normal post the guy that made this video has several others on youtube.
He calls them home hacks because the intent is to convince you to destroy one or more houshold objects. He makes you think you can mod them into cooler items but all you end up doing is tearing them apart only to find his science is just science fiction. Now you are minus a couple of cheap home items and he has successfully "hacked" into your house by making you tear your stuff up. Kind of a practical joke on the wanna-be diyers out there.

This is a normal post WARNING!!!
Please don't open up batteries. They're full of acid called, funnily enough, "battery acid". You might get hurt.
(, Sat 28 Nov 2009, 8:11, , Reply)
This is a normal post The battery he opens is an A23 12v
You can buy them at Maplin. And they do indeed contain eight 1.5v button cells. I've literally just opened one myself (I had some spares from my car alarm fob). Here's my proof if you need it:

But yes, don't open up any other batteries. This one unrolled very easily with the tip of a pointy knife - DON'T use force on this or any other battery.

This is a normal post I bought the kit
he talks about and made one of these! I know how dangerous it is. It cuts insulation tape and pops balloons! I still have eyes and I'm aware that I shouldn't point it at any living thing
