most homeless in Poland are either addicts or mentally ill, mostly alchies, who have already exhausted all their options in the social safety net. But I spent some time this morning sitting in the car wash, listening to Shake It Off by Taylor Swift on Radio 2. Living the fucking dream, right here
(, Fri 30 Dec 2016, 10:36, archived)
You know when you squeeze a squeaky dog toy
and it lets out the initial squeeze, and then makes a sort of breathy inverted squeak as it refills with air?

That's Taylor Swift's entire vocal range.

Incidentally
It's also the noise I made as I ejaculated due to the eroticism of the whole tableau

I've never heard Taylor Swift sing.
Bit nasally, is she?
(, Fri 30 Dec 2016, 10:58, archived)
nah, it's not nasally
she's just straining her vocal chords to get right up into the squeaky range, which makes her voice sound plastic rather than lush and rich. She's probably better than all these vocal-fry nasal raspers doing the rounds though.
(, Fri 30 Dec 2016, 11:09, archived)
OK.
Probably not worth listening out four, then. There do seem to be a lot of singers with terrible voices, lately.

Wh Smith's all day long, they moved the post office in them, then privatised the post office , the pension fund is small tho

(, Tue 27 Dec 2016, 20:04, archived)
They did that here, about a year before they'd redone the post office and filled it with robots and a bloke whose only job was to bollock you for trying using the counter instead of the robots.
Good shout though. Branching into overpriced fizzy drinks and huge bags of m&m's isn't going to pick up nobody buying mags and books.

Yet The Works lives on.

I know of a little lad who was given some posh toiletries, some nice aftershave, some jewellery (not even junk either, solid gold) and still went on to make a right mess of the world and fuck over an entire region for like getting on for two-and-a-bit thousand years, that's pretty ungrateful wouldn't you say? he could have grown up to make his family proud by carrying on his dad's business but oh no, he had to go after the bright lights, me-me-me attention-seeking, and an early celebrity death, oyoyoy
