Congratulations to everyone who won! Great stuff! :D
For the record, I think it's great that one of us won a laptop and lots of us won vouchers. Pretty damned cool, I'd say....

I'll have to give that a closer inspection later tonight.
How bizarre....

You obviously plagiarised an obscure band's name before you'd even heard of them! Shocking!

Haha
I never seen so much rage on b3ta over such an inconsequential issue.
I thought we did things for fun, not profit?

I think it's the hypocrisy over the whole thing that's riling everyone up so much

what hypocrisy?

That's just it, people saying things should be voted for
not wanting to choose a winner by vote
And when do people ever read challenge briefs :P

a company pay for someone to have an idea
they chose which one they want to use that best suits their needs. i'd be surprised if i offered a client three different ideas and they just asked load of people which was best rather than deciding themselves...

Personally, I couldn't give two shits
I'm just saying what people seem to be getting angry about

the irritation is they are making the claim of trying to fix the problem of political voting in this country
then go and ignore the public opinion
Irony/hypocrisy/call it what you want.
There's nothing wrong with a company doing what you said its just the company doing it in this instance.

^This. Very much.
And the slowness. And using the images before they were nagged to come back to give their decision.

That's not an issue at all.
They set the rules, you stick to them. It's hardly irony, hypocrisy or what you will, it's that they needed a picture to compliment or suit their branding.
What *shouldn't* have happened was the excessive wait for them to judge it themselves and ignoring calls for them to do so.
And using the images before giving out the prizes.

Unless they state in their rules that they can take however long they want and use images before judging
That would make it all OK? As long it's their rules they can do what they want?
The whole point of what they're trying to get across is a failed system which those in power take advantage of... so if you can't see the irony/hypocrisy in them flagrantly disregarding the B3ta masses then I'm not sure you understand what either word actually means.
Further more, people will be less inclined to submit their work for such competitions in future on B£ta... or simply resubmit Rob in a dungeon being pissed on by whoever is offering the prize(s).

I think it's the implied contempt in the way the compo / entries were treated that's the sore point.
(Just guessing; I didn't enter).

I was disappointed when they stopped doing it
because I always wanted to get picked to do a judging.

I think you should divide the macbook up into its components and share them out amongst the B3ta members. I will have a capacitor please.
