I'm going to threadwaste to say I've just finished an essay on human trichromatic vision, in which I explained the importance of colour vision in relation to monkey scrotums.
Now that I have finished that, I have another 1500 word essay to do, on arguments for the number of primary personality factors, a report on factor analysis to magic out of thin air, and the bulk of a report on the movement aftereffect

All this must be handed into the department by 12 today.
How do you rate my chances??

# Let's see
Motel Six, book early, rent a car with a package deal, use the Interstate to increase gas mileage, get a Food Lion (or any grocery store you stop at) card (for free...it's great here!), buy any food you like that's on sale, don't eat out (cereal's the best...like Life), and be sure to eat prunes (5 a day) to stay regular
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:00, archived)
# ok....
cant drive, sleep isnt an issue cos i can sleep on streets, and have several lovely people who have offered me floors to kip on, its just a question of getting there. Food, probably not an issue either, ill just not eat.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a Greyhound. how much do they cost state to stae, and how long do they take?
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:02, archived)
# Greyhound
Takes forever...
Costs a littlelot at times...they might run deals
Try Southwest airlines...real laid back and cheap
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:04, archived)
# Rental cars are
way too expensive. Go grayhound. It's not like you're traveling cross country, just around the Northern Illinois area. Grayhound may be a bit slower than driving, but it's very inexpensive and you see the countryside while you're at it. And the fares are pretty cheap depending on where you start to were you go. I'd say no more than $100 us dollars for you Tom. *edit- I believe you would also need a license and most companys won't rent unless you are 25 years old or over and have insurance. **edit again - you will also need a credit card or they will charge you out the arse to rent a car, whereas with grayhound, cash is fine.
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:04, archived)
# I like companies
Like enterprise b/c you can get a deal like 5 days for 199 (remember the ad with the clowns?)
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:06, archived)
# oh yeah and
greyhound sucks sometimes (esp in summer) because you're stuck on a bus for like 8 hours, always next to the sweaty fat person or the old lady that's going to hack up a lung and probably give you SARS before the trip is over
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:08, archived)
# I've travelled cross country on Greyhound bus
and it was torturous (and I was 19 and up for an adventure). I also took the train round trip Illinois/California - torturous and expensive. If you have a long distance to go, flying is the way to go. If you don't mind the stink of chemical toilets and fat folks sitting on your arm, go Greyhound and stay at youth hostels.

this country is trying its hardest to be america. But it just sucks donkey balls. hence wanting to GET THE FUCK OUT....
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 0:58, archived)
# Wow
That sucks. You guys should just stay England. Being American is cool and all, but that's because it's the land of the cowfolk, the fertile soil and the GWBush. We have no scones, no queen, and no cool accents that everyone adores instead of makes fun of (mine's a hearty southern one). I swear, I could tell you two plus two is five and you'd think I'm an idiot. Say it with a british/foreign (to us) accent, and I'd be given a Nobel Prize.
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:03, archived)
# ha!
heres how it works in my country. The queen does fuck all and is despised by 95% of the population. I live in a place where people will happily come and punch you in the face for wearing something they dont like/talking differently to them. Whenever my friends from other places, i.e america, london, anywhere that isnt manchester, or more precisely, Dickybird, bury, come round, i tell them to not talk very loudly on the street cos its draws attention to us.
(, Mon 16 Jun 2003, 1:07, archived)
